oh Canada~
I can't believe October is over, and the year is almost over! Too fast!!

1.- Do you buy a lot of Candys for the Kids ?

No, I buy candy for myself the day after Halloween when it's cheap.

2.- Do you organize a big party at home with friends? ( with Costumes and else )
No, I used to attend a friend's parties at her place, but not so much anymore. I even had to forgo a get together with another friend and her studio mates this year for Halloween, costumes and treats and all, due to a family get together.

3.- Do you celebrate Halloween on other way?

Nope. There was one year my dad and I "celebrated" by buying candy, leaving the house to have a casino buffet dinner, and not coming home until 9 or 10 so we would not have to give out candy and so we could eat all the candy...

4.- if want, would you show us a decoration of Halloween from your home?

No decorations for my apartment or my family, sorry!

1.- Do you buy a lot of Candys for the Kids ?
  Yes, we most certainly do!

2.- Do you organize a big party at home with friends? ( with Costumes and else ) No, no parties.
3.- Do you celebrate Halloween on other way?
No.  It's for the neighborhood kiddies only.

4.- if want, would you show us a decoration of Halloween from your home? ( thanks in advance).  I don't decorate.  I used to in my other house but for some reason - time constraints probably - we don't now.  Which is a shame because my current house really would lend itself to spooky decor.

Hope you have a spooky Halloween dear friends!
  You Too!

1.- Do you buy a lot of Candys for the Kids ?
No candy, we live on a cul-de-sac with only three houses--no kids around here!

2.- Do you organize a big party at home with friends? ( with Costumes and else )  No.
3.- Do you celebrate Halloween on other way?
We don't celebrate Halloween, but celebrate Day of the Dead instead.

4.- if want, would you show us a decoration of Halloween from your home? ( thanks in advance)

I'll post photos over the weekend when the decorating is done.  We put up an altar with candles, flowers, Pan de Muerto (day of the dead bread), tequila, and encourage people to put up photos of their departed loved ones, human and animal.  We honor their memories by telling stories about them, lighting a candle, or toasting their memories.  It's a lovely ceremony and celebration.

We serve Mexican food (this year it will be tamales, refried beans and rice), and while we're honoring our departed loved ones, we also enjoy the company of those still with us.

Here's some info for those not familiar with this holiday:  http://www.mexicansugarskull.com/support/dodhistory.html

1. Candy? Yes, mostly for us. Don't get a lot of kids - 30 if the weather is good, 10 if it's cold and rainy or snowy. Probably more this year with Hallowe'en being on a weekend.

2. Party? Not anymore. My son's birthday is near Hallowe'en so when he was little, his parties were Hallowe'en themed because it was easier.

3. I make a bread called barmbrack and we raise a glass for Samhain which is the day after. My DH's family is Irish. Simply put, in Irish mythology when the portals between the Sidhe (fairy world) and the human world open and everyone has a big party.

That's a nice tradition, too.

1.- Do you buy a lot of Candy for the Kids ? Just a little, because we've gotten very few kids here the past few years.
2.- Do you organize a big party at home with friends? ( with Costumes and else ) No. Halloween is rarely celebrated here by anyone other than teenagers, and I'm way past that stage!
3.- Do you celebrate Halloween on other way? No.
4.- if want, would you show us a decoration of Halloween from your home? ( thanks in advance) I'm not sure where our Halloween decorations are, because I didn't put them out last year, fearing Mogli would chew them.

1.- Do you buy a lot of Candys for the Kids ? I will buy some but even though I live in a residential area with a lot of kids, apparently we don't get many.
2.- Do you organize a big party at home with friends? No and especially not this year with a 3 week old baby.
3.- Do you celebrate Halloween on other way? No, we are going trick or treating tonight at the mall. The weather is supposed to be awful on Friday so we probably won't be going out but my mom and sister want to take Aimee out for a little bit.
4.- if want, would you show us a decoration of Halloween from your home? All we did was put up a few window clings which Aimee has pulled a lot of them off. How about a picture of Aimee in her costume instead?

1.- Do you buy a lot of Candy for the Kids ? Usually a small box, It always snows on Halloween, or is really cold (-20C) We only get the die-hard candy addicts at our place

2.- Do you organize a big party at home with friends? No.
3.- Do you celebrate Halloween on other way? No.
4.- if want, would you show us a decoration of Halloween from your home? I had to throw out most of the decorations, Hot water tank blew this summer and ruined most of it. I'm not sure where the rest are.

I don't give out candy anymore. All the noise would scare my cats. Another reason I quit was because my nephew was treat or treating and a gang of teenagers beat him up badly and left him laying in the street. My nephew lived in my neighborhood and I figured if that the way the kids act they won't get anymore candy from me. My neighborhood is bad and I won't answer the door anymore unless I'm expecting someone.

I've don't celebrate Halloween any other way.

Used to.  We used to get tons of kids.  Not anymore.  :(

2.- Do you organize a big party at home with friends? ( with Costumes and else )

Nope.  We're not even giving out candy this year.  Last year we didn't get a whole lot of kids.  So this year we decided we'd help out Children's Ministry at church and do their Trunk or Treat.  It's fun, tons of kids and food.  I feel kind of bad not giving to the neighborhood kids.  The little kids are just so cute.  But going over to church means I get to see a whole bunch of cute little ones

3.- Do you celebrate Halloween on other way?

No

4.- if want, would you show us a decoration of Halloween from your home?

I have no decorations.  But I can post a picture of my black cat

Another reason for not handing out candy is that the doorbell+ all the kids really scare the cats
I've been sitting outside the past few years because Holly does NOT like the doorbell or strange people.  I'd hate to have her hide under the bed all night.  And Samwise isn't much braver.

Another case of the cats ruling the house. I know what that is like.

1.- Do you buy a lot of Candys for the Kids ?

We only buy Reese's peanut butter cups. 2 bags. For Rick. We haven't had and kids come to the house in years. But we still buy candy (for Rick).

2.- Do you organize a big party at home with friends? ( with Costumes and else )

We used to do parties and such, but it's been years. (I just got a Halloween card from a GF. We used to be closer than we are now, but we have the kind of relationship where we may not see each other for months, but we can pick up right where we left off. Anyway, she told me that she was thinking of me and of all the fun she and I used to have on Halloween.)

3.- Do you celebrate Halloween on other way?

Not really. I put the witch bottle display in the kitchen and another display at work, but that's about it.

4.- if want, would you show us a decoration of Halloween from your home? ( thanks in advance)

I just have my bottles on the kitchen hutch. That's it. http://www.thecatsite.com/t/287033/witch-bottles

Oh!. I did my nails for Halloween this year! The index and pinkie fingers are bright pumpkin orange (Orly) and the rest of my nails are done with a sparkly brown called Bat My Eyes (China Glaze). I'm going to try to do them to look like candy corn (orange and yellow with white tips) on Thursday night.

So, what about me?

let see, here in my land, officially do not celebrate the Halloween as well, I mean the celebration is "El día de Muertos" (The Dead Day) and make some ceremonies with all respect to the dead ( I mean the people who is not more with us in memmorie to they...)

I saw one of our members of TCS is from Monterrey & CA, she put a link very interesting about what do the majority of the people of my country....try to follow & read it, I garantee a really nice good read and you going to learn a lot!

So, answering my own questions

1.- The kids do not go outside to ask candys... :disa:
2.- a big party not, but my relatives came to make a respects to our deads...:indiff:
3.- No at all,........... I want to share this with you, this read can show you what do in specifically in my city & state! ( so proud about i! :) ...)
http://issuu.com/yucatantoday/docs/yucatan_today_oct_15_-_nov_14__2014

4.- unfortunately this year do not have the "altar" at home, is in the home on one of my relatives,... try to take some pic´s and bring it! :)

thanks for read!:wavey:
