steampunk cat transit system article

i came across a very cool article on how to build a steampunk cat transit system for cats. the article includes pretty detailed info about how to build, what materials were used, etc. while i like the steampunk look, it's not a style that i'd want in my home.

Wow, any cat that gets something like that in their home is one very lucky cat!

I was on holiday in the Scottish Highlands a week or so ago and went to a wildlife park where they have some Scottish Wildcats. It is an endangered species and they are kept in a secure enclosure in an attempt to protect their DNA.  Seeing them in small enclosures feels really sad, but the way the park has maximised the space the cats have is by using a similar system with high level runs that go out from the basic enclosures and pass through the surrounding wooded area.  Very cool, and yes, the wildcats looked like they loved their runs too!

The 2 female cats spent most of their time up there, and there was a pile of 3 kittens up in the corner of one of them as well.

i had never heard of scottish wildcats. how very interesting!

I had wanted to see these amazing animals since I was in my early 20s and this was an amazing trip for me.  I would love nothing more than to see one in the wild but the chances of that are almost zero sadly.  Here is some more information about them for anyone who is interested, they are incredibly rare and an endangered species:
