I have two female cats at home-one is 5 years old and is the dominant female and the other one is two years old (her name is Rippley). For the last few months, she's been peeing on only my husband's clothing or directly on him while he's sleeping or watching TV. We have two litter boxes as well. I'm thinking that she's just trying to mark something that's hers, but I'm not sure. My husband is fed up and has put her outside, but I don't want that to be the solution. I understand that it could be a urinary tract infection, but it appears to be behavioral to me. She will use the cat box on most days, but on occasion, she will pee on his things. I don't want to get rid of her, but I have no idea how to fix this. Thanks for any help and advice!

Welcome to TCS!

Agreed on the vet visit.  She could have an infection or crystals.

Is she spayed?  My male did that to my husband before he was neutered.  My husband is "his person." He urinated on his lap while watching TV, on a down comforter while he was getting in bed and on his pile of clothes on the floor.  He never did anything to me.  We got him neutered and he never did it again, although my husband was leery when he first jumped in bed after he was neutered. I do not know if a female marks like a male or not.  Our female was spayed when she was 8 weeks old.

KittyMomma1122-Yes, that's exactly what she's doing. She's never done it to me or peed on my clothing. She is spayed as well.... She doesn't do it every day, which is the weird part. It's only once a week at the most, sometimes not for weeks. I wish I knew what the trigger was. But, I do need to take her to the vet just to make sure nothing is physically wrong. Thanks everyone!

After you take her to the vet check and make sure there are not others cats coming around your house that are upsetting her. My male had never seen another cat when our dog was with us. After we lost our dog feral/stray cats starting coming in the back yard. That is when his started. After he was neutered and the ones outside were spayed we are a big happy no marking family!

When we moved into our new house a few months back my 2 year old girl marked her territory. Thankfully only one room but they do.
