Hello all fellow cat lovers!

My cat, a 15+ year old female bicolour cat suffered with a gemstones ear around 6 years ago, after going to the vets and getting it drained and getting meds it just kept coming back. The vet said that it was causing my poor cat so much stress, she had never heard a cat cry like it and she soiled herself straight after every time, bless her :(

So they said just to leave it and let it clot.. so I did. Now looking online after she seems a bit irritated by the cauliflower ear I have seen that surgery should have probably been suggested. So I'm really just looking for general advice on what to do now and if I can help relieve the irritation for her of her floppy cauliflower ear? She's getting on now and I don't want to cause her any discomfort.

Thank you :)

I don't have any good advise to offer you on this but am sending lots of vibes for your elderly kitty and that ear. Maybe bumping this thread up will assist in getting someone's attention who may know something about this condition. :vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes: for your kitty.

Could you call different vets and try to find a specialist? Or a vet more familiar with the problem?

Considering how rare this is, I would be looking for a specialist. Especially if the ear is painful or uncomfortable.
