Please can you advise me, I moved out of my mums house in August and we had two cats there, one of them was my little baby but had grown up with the other cat and the dogs so obviously we thought it was best to leave her there. We then found a little stray and took her in she is now 4 months old. My cat at my mums is pulling out all of her fur and has lost weight the vet says this is because of me moving out so I now think that not taking her was not the right decision, would it be possible for her to move in with the kitten or would she have more problems doing this. Literally soooooooo confused and just very worried about my kitty so all advice would be greatly appreciated!

Hi,

Sorry to hear you're having problems with your cat. One of my mum's cats used to pull her fur out due to separation anxiety.

If your vet has ruled out any health issues and if the new kitten has a clean bill of health there is no reason that the two cats couldn't live happily together. Are both cats female? I've found that female cats get along better if they are both spayed. Lots of other reasons for spaying the cats of course, but one advantage is that they are not so territorial once they've been fixed.

Here is some advice on introducing cats to each other.

Four month old kittens are usually very keen to meet new friends, all they want to do is play so that should make things easier for you.
