My cat adores Whisker Lickens treats but this past year (2014), Purina started putting corn syrup in these treats and it caused a severe flair up of yeast in my cat's ears and sinuses as corn syrup is a type of sugar.   If your cat has any yeast/candida fungus problems, don't give the cat any food or treats with sugar or corn syrup or yeast in it.   The cat's yeast issues will flair up and the cat will suffer.  People who are giving their yeast infected cats treats with any type of sugar in it (including maltose, sucralose, corn syrup, fructose, dextrose) may not realize why their cat is suddenly scratching from the terrible itch and psychiatric problems yeast infections can cause.   Cats are carnivores, there's no reason to put SUGARS in their food at all !   Sugars in their food can also caused diabetes.

I'm not a huge fan of soft treats for my cats and my cats don't like Whisker Lickens. I feed the Friskies Party Mix and they get treats occasionally since Tiger has a sensitive stomach.

Sorry you had to go thru that with your cat.     I use to buy Temptations treats all the time for my late cat now I don't even feel comfortable feeding those to my new kitten.   I never use to read the ingredients to my cats food now I do all the time.

Now I feed those Pure Bites which is just freeze dried chicken or turkey breast.  They can be pricey but kitty loves them.  Sometimes buy Wellness or Natural Balance treats.  Don't love all the ingredients in these but they are better than the ones I use to pick up from the grocery stores.
