We have four cats, all of them are castrated. We have three male cats and one female. But all of a sudden the male cats have started attacking the female. They were all nice to her before and played with her, slept beside her and such.

Could the attack her now because she's sick?

Ages:

Male 7

Female 7

Male 3

From what you describe, your female kitty might be sick. The others probably sense this and...reason for the other's to attack her. Please take hare to the vet as soon as possible. In the mean time, please keep her isolated from the other cats from now until she recovers..

Poor kitty :(

I agree with Lamiatron: cats can sense illness, weakness in other cats, before us humans can.
PS: you indicate she is sick; has she been seen by a vet, and what did the vet say? Meanwhile, definitely isolate her, to give her a chance to rest and not be beaten up.

i forgot to mention that we lost a dog that's been there since all cats were tiny kittens... can that be a reason as well?
