OK, I screwed up: I had taken in a healthy semi feral kitty 2 months ago. She is very skittish, but was finally exploring the house, sleeping in bed with me ( no touching) and playing with toys- all that conveyed some kind of comfort.
Yesterday I had my friend and vet tech come over and check a troublesome eye. He suggested we restart the ointment..Baby Cat wasn't happy and post even has not left her tree perch, in her room ! Not even when I wasn't home ! No sleeping, not even in same room with the human. Damn I thought we were making progress..... I've suspended further treatment. Not sure if she'll ever trust me now.

Aww- she just got scared! Give her time. She's a semi feral and it will take a long time for her to adjust and trust completely. You are doing fine!

Thanks for that. She can sure hold  a grudge. Hope I didn't permanently hurt the situation

If she needs the eye ointment for an infection then it's important to give it to her whether she likes it or not. If in doubt, text or email a picture of the eye to yout vet. My feral, Mia doesn't tolerate being picked up or handled, either, even though she's lived with me for 15 months. However, there are times I have to handle her to give her meds or trim her nails. She panics, hisses, swipes and scratches me. But she understands that thete are times I have to do these things and she sees me do these things with the other cats. None of my cats enjoy trips to the vet- they all cry, and a few pee themselves. Part of being a pet parent is caring for them even when it's unpleasant. Your kitty will get over this, don't stress over it.
