This is my little cashew at 2 1/2wks old, 5wks old, and present 9wks old. And the other picture is of mom and who I believe is the father.

The whole litter was a mix of color. We had one calico tabby, one all white, one orange and white tabby, one gray and white, one white with really light gray/tan markings(like the dad in the picture), and my little boy that I have no clue what color to say. Tan, brown, and white? Lilac?

Any insight would be great:)

I wonder if he may be a mitted point. The black ears! But being mitted, ie having lotsa of white - he has very lotsa of white, makes his masque isnt visible.

Is his tail also dark?

If yes, we will see If the idea is correct, when he is a little older, and his normal eye color comes in.   I suppose they are blue now?   But  blue is the normal for small kittens.

One of his parents, the nearest one, may possibly be the same story.  What is the color of its eyes??

If both parents are carriers, its normal for one kitten in the litter to be point.  But if one is a point, and the other is a carrier, the statistics here will capsize - about half "should" be points.

Of course, statistics here arent ironclad.

Yes, his tail is dark like his ears and so is the midsection of his hind legs.
This picture shows a bit better

He is the only one in the litter whose eyes haven't changed from blue. His eyes have gotten to be more of a vibrant blue now. I cant remember the color of the dad's eyes. He was a feral cat and didn't let me anywhere near him. Mom is a farm cat that adopted our family. Her eyes are a light greenish/yellow. Being farm cats I'm sure they are quite a mix of breeds.:lol3:

So would mom be considered a calico point then?

Ok, so it seems he is a point as I though he perhaps could be.  A mitted point.  Having extra lots of white in his case.  Mitted means "with white" when we talk about points.

Mom would be also a mitted point if she were a point.  But points have usually blue eyes.  There are a very few exceptions.  There is one line among ragdolls, who does have greenish eyes, but they are not common no.

So most probably, she isnt a point. In that case, with so much white, I would say Van pattern with harlekine.  Or even just Harlekine.

As I understand, she has too much white to be called for calico.  While with Van or Harlekine, the white is the predominant, and the color comes in patches.

With  classical Van patches on the top of the head + tail, with Harlekine there are splaches on the back-side too.  Van and Harlekine is really a pedagogic picture, mixing both these descriptions.

If so, the probable is both parents are carriers, nobody of them being point.  ONE pointed kitten is common.  They are 6 yes? There are  a couple three of them who are carriers, and rest non carriers, carriers of the point gene that  is.

ps.  The gene for the Van pattern is fairly strong.  And as you see, the whole pack has combinations and variations of the colors and patterns.  The only real exception is the white kittens.

Btw.  Is the white kitten TOTALLY white, or does  he has some splatch?  If totally white, do he hear normally?   Some  totally white cats are more or less deaf.   If so,

Being home inside only they dont have big problems with it, but dont let him be farm cat living on his own in the barn.

Thank you so much for all your input. I know nothing about cats really. Lol.

Yes, the one male is totally white. No markings at all. His eyes have changed to a hazel color a week ago, and are still changing. I think he can hear normally. He will look up when he hears me talking. He is however the runt and going to be a farm cat. My husbands boss's mom wanted two males. And the third male is my cashew. As soon as he was born I knew I wanted to keep him. Lol.
I'm hoping the little white boy will be fine as an outside cat. She does take good care of all her cats. They are vetted regularly, have a heated barn, and are fed in addition to whatever they catch.

The other two kittens that aren't pictured were a calico tabby

Is there anything in the world cuter than a kitten. I don't think so. Yours are adorable.

Awe, thank you. I love them to death! However, I hope I never have to care for a litter again[emoji]9786[/emoji]️[emoji]128541[/emoji] but being on a farm I can't promise I won't take in anymore pregnant cats so the babies are properly socialized and cared for. Haha

I figured I'd put up an updated picture of my boy. He has kept his blue eyes:)

Both pictures were taken when he was woken from a nap. Him and some of his siblings have their moms lazy third eyelid. *shrugs* At least none of them have it as pronounced as she did. Still a looker if I do say so myself:)
