I'm just wondering if my kitten's incision is healing correctly or if it is infected. I'm a new cat owner and a worried one at that. She got spayed last week Friday and has been eating and drinking well. I have no prior experience with cats, especially with a newly spayed kitten. I had to put the cone of shame on her but I had to leave her with my mom since I had to go back to college. She has licked it (her incision) but my mom gets her to stop by showing her the cone of shame.

Thanks!!

It looks pretty good, as long as there isn't any yellow or green drainage or is 'hot' to the touch. They all look bad for a while. A lump is normal, there is swelling on the inside too. As long as she is eating, drinking, and going to the bathroom OK, she should be fine. Good luck and keep us posted!
