Wheezing

we rescued an adult cat and she is wheezing when she breaths....

some days are worse than others..

she will wheeze .. sounds like a mucus buildup ... then she will cough a bit abd it will clear up.. only to go through it hours later again.

no heart works according to vet and steroid shot did not help at all...

ideas?

we moved from the country to the city with no cat improvement ...

I'm sorry about your kitty.  Did the vet have any other suggestions?  What do you mean by 'no heart works'?

Sounds like she might have an upper respiratory infection or the tail end of one.  I'd get a second opinion for sure.  To help with the mucous and wheezing, you can try steaming her in the bathroom several times a day.  Just get the bathroom nice and steamy and sit in their with her until the steam dissipates.  If you have a vaporizer, try running that 24/7 close to where she spends most of her time.  You can also try plain saline drops in her nose, such as Little Noses (if you're here in the US).  Just one to two drops twice a day should help her expel that congestion in her nose.
