So I have a kitten with Trichiasis or misdirected eyelashes. So far, it hasn't affected her too much. It's just made her eyes weepy. But I know eventually her eyelashes will become a big problem when she gets older. It appears the only way to fix this problem is laser surgery. I seriously can't afford such an operation right now. Heck if I could do that, I would have fixed my own eyes ages ago. Has anyone ever had any experience with misdirected eyelashes? Is there anything I could do to protect her peepers until I can afford the more long time solution?

My cat had both lower lids done due to hair rubbing on the eye causing an ulcer. It was entropion.
Each surgery was around $350. Only took twenty minutes under anesthesia. Cone for two weeks and daily eyedrops. There was no other way to fix except for this minor surgery. If you had to see a vet to get a diagnosis then there is a problem that needs fixed now...it won't get better. Don't let an ulcer form and recovery will be fast and easier.

Thanks for that. I'm relieved that I at least have a little bit of a quote to make estimates on. The vet found this problem originally when I first took her in as an anemic, emaciated feral. So far, I have been working on getting her fat, happy and tamed. She is almost back to 100% so now I am working on solving this problem. I will be taking her back to the vet in the next couple of weeks for another blood test and check up so I will be sure to ask them. Thanks!
