Hey Cat Site Members,

I was wondering where you frequent to get cat food at the best prices on a consistent basis.  Specific pet stores?  Web sites?  Let me know.

I recently went to Wag.com and used a one time promo for 25% off the entire order (Promo: SAVE8038), which was a good deal but I'm looking for a consistent place to come back to.

Thank you in advance for the responses!

Are you in the US? If I was in the US, I would shop a lot at Chewy. If you're in the UK, I believe I've seen people say ZooPlus is good. When it comes to good, any site that offers free shipping (or has a location to pickup) is a good deal to me.

I have yet to stumble upon a good, cost-efficient equivalent for Canadians so I just do my shopping at Pet Valu and Petsmart whenever we're driving by.

I buy food from a lot of different places, mostly local stores. After comparing prices, I've found that stores are generally cheaper than or at least competitive with prices online, particularly when I factor in loyalty programs and occasional sales. Plus I want them to stay in business because they're handy for quick purchases, willing to order just about anything I want, and (in some cases) good sources of advice.

That said, I did recently start an autoship with Chewy, for Nutro Natural Choice foods that I feed every day and that local stores don't keep in stock very well. Petco sells Nutro a little cheaper but cut one of the three flavors I buy so that was the end of that, particularly because Petro isn't especially handy.

P.S./Edit: I've often found that smaller, independent stores have the best prices.

The cheapest place I find it is my local small non chain pet store and I had no idea there was one 20 minutes from my house until I was searching for a certain food and this place carried it.

So do a google search and see if there's one of those small local pet shots in your area.

If not, places like Petco, Petsmart often have sales.

I find online I switch between different sites depending on if I can find a coupon, who's running specials, etc.  I usually shop around at Wag, Amazon and Chewy.

I buy individual cans at pet store first to make sure cats love it, then I but two different cases for dogs or cats from chewy.com for free shipping. I also love small non chain pet store to try unusual brands that can later be bought on line!

My local independent pet stores actually have higher prices than the big chain stores. I usually find the best prices online, at chewy or wag.com, depending on what I'm buying. Amazon is hit and miss, but they sometimes do have the best price for certain things so I like to check there as well. All three have free shipping if you meet the minimum order amount. I rarely buy from petsmart or petco as their prices tend to be higher - only when there's a good deal, or they have something I can't get anywhere else.
