Okay, I'm totally confused.  We recently bought a Ragdoll kitten -he is 12 weeks old.  We keep him out of our bedroom at night, but when I get up in the morning for work, I let him in to our ensuite bathroom while I'm getting ready for work.  He has decided he likes our shower to pee in, but it just happens first thing in the morning.  The rest of the day, he uses his kitty litter.  Behavioral or illness?  Any suggestions?  I generally remove him from the shower before he does it and puts him in his litter but he just jumps out again and follows me back to the bathroom!

My girl did this when I brought her home.. I got her another litter box and it stopped.. She just didn't want to wee where she poo-ed!  But she would do it all the time - I'm not sure why your boy only goes there in the mornings.  Another box may be worth a try though, just in case.

Have you had him checked over by a vet since you got him?

Mani, I have not had him to a vet yet, but since I posted my thread, I moved a kitty litter box upstairs, closer to "where the action is"... we have a fairly large house, and I think Zack must have just been too lazy to go downstairs to use the litter.  He hasn't peed in the shower since last Friday, so maybe I have found the solution at least for now.  I don't really want to have two kitty litter boxes, and certainly not one in our main bathroom.

Now we just have to figure out how to keep him from climbing up our legs!

   It's great that you've sorted it !

I didn't realise there was an 'up' and 'down' stairs.  He's only a little kitten, so proximity is a big thing, and I should have mentioned it.   But do keep in mind that two litterboxes may be needed... one doesn't have to be in the main bathroom.

As for climbing up legs... that's part of the definition of 'kitten'..

Distraction works well with kittens.  Try one of the laser lights and direct it as far away from legs as possible!
