Some might remember me, I posted here a while ago about issues with my kitten peeing on my bed.
Following some users advice, we managed to - we thought - stop that issue. Except after a while, it started again and we're really at loss here, no idea what to do.

The situation :

I have two kittens, Gaia is seven months old now and Yumi is sixth and a half months old. Yumi's always be the cutest easiest cat to have. On the other hand, Gaia had to be taught out of a few bad habits like chewing cables or "playing" with us all claws out. Thing is, Gaia is really a clever girl, she proved it many times. We managed to teach her to come when we call for her in barely two weeks - Yumi still doesn't get it. But she still pees on our bed occasionally.

At first it was really terrible. Every time she saw the bed, she'd jump on it and try to pee. Every night she would do it. If locked out of the bedroom, she doesn't pee anywhere else that her litterbox. With a lot of patience and efforts, those behaviours stopped. Now, she plays on the bed all day with Yumi, takes her naps there, no issues. But at night, that's another story ...

She doesn't pee every single night as she used to, thank god. But still, every 3 to 10 days, she does it. We wake up in the morning with pee on our bed. Yumi's usually scratching furiously around the place to bury it, while Gaia ignores it completely. She can be right next to it, purring and asking for cuddles for all we know. And still, she knows she did something bad : she runs away when we find the spot, or when we catch her while doing it.

For the past few weeks, we tried the following :

Every time she does it, we washed all sheets and the cover, adding white vinegar. We put white vinegar on the place on the bed. And we lock the cats out of the bedroom at night for one week. Then they can come back - thing is they really love sleeping with us, this is the time when Gaia gets all purring and cuddling. And a few days later, Gaia strikes again, and we wash everything and lock them out and ... The litterboxes are more than clean. She's perfectly healthy. There's no reason for her to do that.

It's been 3 or 4 times already and we're starting to loose hope. We don't want to lock them out of our room permanently, they love sleeping with us and our flat is only two rooms so they're happier with the whole space.

So here I am asking you, anyone had a cat doing such a thing ? Anyone has any idea we could try to make this kitty stops soiling our bed ?

I hope you can get the problem resolved. I sympathize greatly, since I just discovered last night that my cat has been peeing on our bedroom carpet (took the whole thing out of the room and turned the hose on it in the driveway). I had the same problem when we first got the cat and now again 3 years later. It's probably my fault since I really switched litter - long story. Anyway, perhaps you want to try a change in litter also or have an additional box somewhere in the house. My problem went away (until now) when I made sure there was a box on every level of the house. Try getting your cat a pheromone collar. It helps them feel calmer. Are there any recent changes in your house? New pets? New people living there? Any sort of change can disrupt behavior.

Best of luck to both of us...

Well, if anything, nothing changed recently at all in their lives ... it will be hard to fit another box in our room but it's worth a try I guess. Still, there is one barely 3m etersaway and the door's always open. The other one is 2meters further. And she uses both of them all day.

The pheromone might be a good idea too, she seems sometimes a bit nervous for no real reasons.
