Ok, so my Molly Sue, (4 1/2 years old) is litter trained, and has always done very good, she is very healthy, and very much loved and babies all the time, but,  She keeps pooping on the floor int he kitchen in front of the back door and I know why, and its not something I feel comfortable with giving into. Before we moved into this house she had managed to get outside at our old one, it made me nervous but after time and time and time again of escaping and coming back i realized she wasnt going anywhere and that she always just stayed around the back porch i started letting her out and making sure she came back in at night and she was happy. When we moved, she got out and I could not find her, i panicked. We went back to the old house and there she was. So now im afraid to let her go back outside because I am afraid she will make that trip again and its very dangerous with wide very busy city roads to cross. (also there is a "crazy cat lady" just down the alley from us and i dont know those cats she has running around everywhere and molly sue is not really and outdoor cat nor has had much contact with other cats, im afraid they will pick a fight with her that she cant win)

So, my question is: How do i get her to stop pooping in my kitchen without giving into her demands?

I have tried showing her the mess before clean up and letting her know that is bad, i did not scream or swat at her though.

I have also cracked some windows around where she likes to lay and relax so she can get that fresh air and hear the birds n what not.

but she is still essentially givin me the middle finger..day after day...poopin on my floor :(

Don't give up, she will run and possibly not return one day. It has happened to me and many others. Clean her poop with enzymatic cleaners to get rid of all traces. I would even say don't give her attention as to what she did. If anything maybe a timeout in a bathroom for 15 minutes when you get home. Give her extra play and attention to compensate for taking away her outside play time. Give and take is important and eventually she will get it if you are being fair.

could the pooping be territorial perhaps? are their stray or other cats hanging around your house? could possibly be that she's pooping right there to leave her scent and let other cats know that that's her turf...just a thought...

Agree with the enzymatic cleaners. If your cat is pooping in the same spot, it's probably because she can still smell her waste there...and she's thinking it's okay to poop there. Aside from pooping in front of the back door...does he ever do # 2 in the litter box? When was the last time your kitty has been to the vet?  A check up might be in order to rule out any medical/health reasons why your cat is going # 2 there.. (first and foremost actually)

How many litter boxes do you have? some cats like to use one litter box for just pee, and another just for poop. Extra litter boxes around the house are not a bad idea. I would place another litter box in the kitchen as an easy access box for her.
