Saturday, my little guy Montgomery was his usual self. He was tearing around playing with our foster kittens (who have lived with us now for sixteen weeks). His appetite was good, and his digestion was normal (for Montgomery). Saturday night, he slept in the bed with me, which he doesn't usually do as he prefers his own hot water bottle, and when he pooed in the bed, it was normal for Montgomery. Sunday morning, he refused his canned food, which he NEVER does, and looked icky, for lack of a better word. He didn't want to play and he had trapped gas even though he'd had his drops. He got that sick cat odour which to me smells like horses, and stayed in his bed all day, his incontinence pad changed frequently. What was leaking out of him was pale brown, almost clear, and almost as thin as water. We treated him with KP last night, every four hours, and I was prepared to bring him to our veterinarian this morning if he was no better.
To-day he is back to his usual self. He downed his breakfast with his usual enthusiasm and has been running and playing all day. His stool is back to its usual colour and consistency, and he even hit the litter box once this morning.
He eats w/d from the veterinarian (canned and dry). He gets no treats. He has no access to any other food. He does not go outside. I can't figure out what happened. The last time this happened, over a year ago, he had eaten part of a Milk-Bone, but this time there was nothing. I know there are many others here with cats with digestive issues - anyone else know about this?
