Well, Sasha came out of the radiation therapy for her cancer just fine. She did well during the treatments and her one month follow up was very promising.

But on Sunday morning she had a 10-15 sec grand mal seizure.

It was very upsetting for us but she has been normal since it happened. I took her to the general vet today who has run an extensive blood and urine panel (results in a few days) as well as did x-rays and an ultrasound of her insides. Everything on this end looks good. At the 3 month with the oncologist I'm sure he will suggest an MRI.

The general vet has said she is at the age when Idiopathic Epilepsy symptoms start to occur. As long as the seizures run less than two minutes and occur once every two months she should be fine.

Her cancer was a very rare neurofibrosarcoma and a local tumor. So if it came back it should of started there. But the radiation therapy was supposed to keep that from happening. I hope to know in November if there is a brain tumor but it's all just very sad and stressful.

I really hope it isn't cancer.

I'm worried about her sleeping in high places and having one so I'm going to have to figure out how to block her favorite spots or make them so she can't fall off.

Has anyone here had experience with this?

I have very little experience with seizures, but I do have a cat who has such deep sleep cycles that she falls off window ledges, beds, me ... and the fall does not wake her up. She once hit the floor so hard that she stopped breathing - it took 2 rounds of cat CPR to bring her back. I find memory foam pillows are the best to cushion falls. The cat sinks right into them. It might be cheaper to use a memory foam mattress topper and cut it to the sizes you need.

Hoping for the best for your little one.

Oh my goodness! I think I definitely want to take a Pet First Aid/CPR course now.

I think I will need to block off the tall dresser, but the memory foam pillows sound like a great idea. She's my only climber out of the three and I worry about her since she has always been a bit small and fragile.
