Last night was the coldest we've had so far this Autumn.  I put my kid's winter blankets on their bed and we all wore warmer pajamas last night.  And then I spent most of the night under and on top of my own blankets.
According to my backyard weather station our low last night was 33!  Brrr!!  It really made me not want to get out of bed this morning.  It's nice to linger under those warm blankets!
I miss being a kid; responsibility free!  But also how when I was a kid; the weather changes were no big deal.  The first frost was exciting because snow would be coming.  I remember looking out my mother's bedroom window and being excited; while she was not.

What do you miss most about being a kid?

I think I miss the energy most.  Every night was a good night of sleep; even the nights I remember being up because of allergies or being sick.  I could go all day.  I miss it.

I miss enjoying the snow. When we were kids and it snowed, we had snow days from school. We'd be outside all day long sledding down the hills in the neighborhood (I actually met Rick during a sledding party). Mom always made hot chocolate with marshmallows (and it was homemade hot chocolate from scratch, not the instant stuff).

Now I hate snow. Now I have to drive in the stuff and it's not fun at all. I hate the snow, I hate being cold, I hate dealing with ice. I'm not a winter person at all. I kind of miss having fun in the snow.

The life full of no responsibilities, like going to work, paying bills, etc. But of course we never enjoyed it because we never knew those things were coming! We were so worried about being grown up and thinking it would never come. We hated our 'chores', never realizing that when we grew up it would be worse!

I miss not having a care in the world.  I miss getting everything I wanted since I was the baby by 12 years and by the time I was born, my Dad was making better money.  Yep, I was spoiled rotten

I'm not sure. I think I miss spending hours upon hours with my cousins who were also my closest friends. My fondest memories with friends are those of which I spent swimming at our grandparent's camp, building snow forts in the winter and being the same age as the story line of the Harry Potter movies. We used to pretend we were witches and went out and found sticks for our wands, even went as far as writing ourselves letters from Hogwarts when we turned eleven.

Oh the wonders of a child's imagination.

I miss being with my friends. Riding bikes for miles together.

I miss the freedom of not having bills and responsibilities.

I miss the energy I had too.

My Step-brothers had bunk beds and these dark brown sleeping bags.  We used to make their bedroom into the candy room from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.

I miss being naïve enough to think John Lennon lived inside the speaker. The first song I ever knew was Strawberry Fields Forever and I thought he was a kid my size. Life was more interesting then, when anything was possible.

I miss being excited about snow.  I also remember when I still believed in Santa Claus and the excitement of Christmas morning.  I was one of the kids who hung onto that belief longer than most.

Great question.  I miss lots of things that have already been mentioned, but one of my favorites was being tucked into bed by my mom or dad.  I felt safe, snuggly and comforted before heading off to sleep.  Magical to be a child, growing up in a loving home.

I agree!!  But also do miss the really, really good sleep, (not waking up in the middle of the night to go pee!)
 & yes, the energy!!
