I have an 11 year old cat named Brian, he is an indoor only deaf cat that got out by accident yesterday. It took us 12 hours to find him. When I found him he would not stand and come to me I had to go pick him up. He is refusing to walk although he has a little, he isnt eating, drinking or using the litter box. Could this just be his fatigue from not being use to the outside world? I hear so many horror stories about $1000 vet bills that I can't afford so I don't want to go that route if I don't need to. Has anyone else experienced this with their kitties before?

I am not asking to be ridiculed or bashed, if you have a crappy opinion keep it to yourself. I am merely asking for advice or anyone that has had this experience. Thanks.

He could be in shock, perhaps hit by car or ate something bad. I think you need to take him to vet. He might have had a stroke due to stress, please take him to vet since he is a senior.

Yes, i think you definitely need to take him in to see a Vet.  An initial exam should not run thousands of dollars.  You need to at least have him checked if he still will not stand, and ESPECIALLY if he will not eat or drink anything.  It is possible he ingested something toxic.  I don't know where you live, but if it's getting cold there, antifreeze is highly toxic to animals, and for some reason, it is also highly palatable to them
, so if you're in an area where it's used, it's possible he drank some out on the road.

for your little guy.  I'm sure it was very traumatic for ALL of you, but especially for him, particularly since he is deaf
