I have 4 cats that I've rescued from my work with beautiful eyes. We just said they're siamese mixes, but I'm not so sure. The first is Muffy, a long hair seal point. We was brought in with her short hair seal point brother and her other littermates were 2 black DLHs and a gray DLH.

The second one, Lucas, is a short hair blue Lynx point male. His littermate was a DLH tuxedo male.

The third, Cody, is a long hair blue Lynx point

Thank you. I guess that's a perk for working at a shelter!! I snatch up the beautiful ones lol. I'm curious about the breeds especially the little one.

The parents were probably one longhair,  (both genes longhaired), and one shorthair - with one longhair and one shorthair gene.

The point gene distribution more unclear.  It MAY have been two carriers with any looks, but my guess is it was the same there:  One point, one carrier with any looks - probably a tabby.

The pointed parent  wasnt probably not a pure bred siamese - as he was also carrier of the longhaired gene. -  Although outcosses with balinese are sometimes allowed, it diminish the probabilities.    But he could have been a pure bred balinese, birman or ragdoll...    :).

How are Muffys paws?  white socks?  Bro does has white socks.    If so, the chances increases the significant parent may have been a Birman.

Are there just two littermates, or there could be more, but whom you dont know?

Here we dont have enough with statistics to be sure.   We know both parents couldnt be longhaired.  And not pointed.

The most probable one shorthaired carrier, and one longhaired.   OR two shorthaired carriers of the point gene.

And the same with the point gene.

About the heredity of the colors I dont dare say too much.  Just blue is a diluted black, so both kittens got black as part of their legacy.

I dunno, one solution for parents may be, one tabby and one black and white - both carriers....

Sorry, I didn't finish. Cody is a long hair blue Lynx point male and he had 3 DLH black male littemates.

Both parents longhaired.  Both parents probably carriers of point gene, themselves with any looks.   One tabby and one black??

Again, observe blue is  a diluted black, so all four kittens are essentially blackies, even if one of them does have a disquise a "masque"   (sic!).

Muffy doesn't have white paws. All 4 paws on Lucy (the smallest) are white. None of them are littermates to each other. Lucy is who I'm most curious about. Is that a snowshoe pattern? Lucy has the most prominent blue eyes.

Yes, if she become shorthaired (and somewhat prolonged muzzle) it will be a snowshoe pattern.

If longhaired, she will be a Birman look alike   :)

I'm curious to see if she's going to be short, medium, or long hair. She's too young to know and still has baby fuzzies lol. She's about 7-8 weeks. My Cody looks like some of the pictures of Birmans. It's amazing how much people pay for these purebreds when my shelter cats look just the same!!!

They're beautiful kitties, Amber! We got our two (one snowshoe mix, one lynx mix) from a shelter, too... we just thought they seemed like great cats for us and had no idea "what" they were until we got home and started Googling. They're very affectionate and fun. Enjoy yours!

Hi AmberRVT,

I saw the pix of your kitties and they are so beautiful!!!  You are indeed blessed...when I saw the smallest one (Lucy I think) I started to cry.
Your baby is a snowshoe and they are fabulous!  I recently lost my beloved snowshoe, Boo Boo Bear to cancer...and yours reminds me so much of him!!  I want to pass on some great news for you...the snowshoe is especially known for the bond they develop with their humans, and often they become very attached to one person in particular. I was lucky enough to be that one person!  I cannot find words to explain the relationship that I had with my Boo Bear. He was the only reason I was able to survive my daddys death...the only reason I had to get out of bed each day...and the only reason I continued to breathe.  Be prepared...your snowshoe has the ability to change your life.  Oh how I envy you...

Wishing you all the best with your new babies...

I was wondering if she was a snowshoe. I wasn't sure because of the little bit of white on her face. She was found in a drainpipe at 4-5 weeks all by myself and covered in fleas. Not sure how she got there. I just figured there's no way an adult snowshoe (her momma) would be wondering around outside.

@Luvmykittys, it sounds like Boo Boo Bear was a wonderful cat for you! It's so hard to lose them to cancer, particularly when they are so much a part of your life, as he was for you.

Our snowshoe, Edwina, is also very affectionate: she was initially very attached only to me but now she's expanding her horizons and being friendlier with my husband, too. (He feeds the cats in the morning, so I'm sure that helps!

Hi LisaHE,

Thanks for the kind words...Boo Boo was my boy and I miss him every single day.  Your Edwina is stunning!  She is a beautiful girl!
