When we selected are male cat from a neighbor we noticed two things: 1) he was the runt and 2) the mother had "left" her kittens very young...as a kitten he would suckle on my neck and arms...I figured it was because the mother left him too early.

At about 1 /2 years old, after neutering, he started to "hump" my arm by biting the back of my hand and stratling my arm and hump away until finished...not that I let him finish by choice...one day I just decided what the hell let him finish and see what happens....he finished and collapsed like a regular man!

At 2 years old he started to attach to my husband, who was the main feeder...he would still sleep next to my legs on ,my recliner but was attaching himself to my husband...Feeling alone, at 2 1/2 years, I brought in a spayed female....my male cat still wants to bite the back of my hand and dry hump me at 3 years old...What the heck is going on with him? Is he trying to show his dominance? Why would he go from suckling me to humping and biting me??

He's driving me crazy and the hand biting hurts...even tho I refuse to let the darn can strattle me!

Oh dear!

I don't have much advice, other than I had a kitty who was a dry-humper, and he always treated it as "serious business." If you tried to stop him, he'd be like, "No no, let me finish this!"

Every time he attempted it on anyone (or within the vicinity of anyone) he was thwarted in his business. It seemed like after about 5 years, he "grew out" of it. I have no idea what that was all about, though it wouldn't surprise me if his neutering was not a sufficient job.

I've heard stories of cats being neutered incompletely or incorrectly. You might want to check if he still has a few bits and pieces in there.

You could try offering a cat-sized stuffed animal instead of your arm. I know this works for some dogs.

This is disturbing to say the least. I wouldn't think a partial neuter would be anywhere near as common as a partial spay.

I mean there not much ambiguity in castration. Either it's done or it isn't. Plus the access is much easier for males.

I would venture that maybe your kitty has a undescended testicle. Idk... Either that or some kind of hormonal issue.

Sometimes a vet will leave the testicles there but cut off the "plumbing" around them, so the cat's personality/dominant instinct remains but he can't make any babies. But yeah, @bigperm20  is right about the undropped testicle being an issue too. Either way I would have him checked out.

Thank you all...next vet visit it will be discussed...it's not a constant but when he's like that he's hard to deter....I thought maybe he was trying to show me that he's the man when it comes to my husband....my female kitten beats the crap out of him...so it's not like he's doing this to everyone...just me! Lucky, lucky me!

Sorry, but that made me LOL! Hopefully you'll get him figured out. The odd thing to me is that he was neutered at 6 months. Most males mature a little later than that. I'd say it's more medical than behavioral. He probably doesn't do it to the female cat, BECAUSE she kicks his butt if he tries.
