I did a quick search and did not find anything but if someone has mentioned this, I apologize. I bought a new Kong wand type dangly toy. I didn't notice when I was in the store but the string is elastic. It makes the bird on the end jump and jerk, so it's fun for the cat but I've also found it to be unsafe.
Obviously, I'm there playing with the cat, so nothing bad should happen but a few times, while we were playing the string wrapped around the cat, once around his neck. Because the string is elastic, you can keep pulling while it continies to be wrapped around the cat. Of course, my job is to ensure this doesm't happen or to prevent it altogether but I don't like the idea that it happens so often. This doesn't tend to happen with traditional string toys.
