Basically this is what we wake up to a couple times in the middle of the night. It can go on for 20 minutes! We have done the consoling route, we've for the last week ignored it and sometimes she would just let out a couple hollers then toddle off to bed so we thought it was better but last night it was bad again. Today marks 6 weeks since losing Minnie (sniff).
Last night I yelled out to Mik and she didnt stop but when she finally finished she came and snuggled with me and slept like an angel. She just started sleeping on the chair under the dining room table where Min always slept. Mikki never slept there before and a lil hair was still on there from Min that I hadnt swept yet since we dont use that chair so I think the behavior is truly related to Min being gone. She eats great and pottys normal.

Here is how she sounds....

I didn't hear any sound on that clip--but I can imagine.  I've had night yowler kitties.

It took Travis a good two months before he started getting over the loss of his buddy Molly.  It was a solid three months before I could say I thought he was really over it.

Did you see this article:  http://www.thecatsite.com/a/do-cats-mourn

I think it's pretty common for it to take several weeks for them to get used to the change.  Have you tried any calming treats or collars?  Perhaps something like that would help Mikki.

I will read the article. I bought the oil diffuser of one brand of calming stuff ... doesn't seem to be using any oil! I read a review on other complaints about it not dispensing grrr

I had to turn my sound up but could hear it loud and clear.. maybe she's a lil drama queen

No, not a drama queen. It may just take some time for her to get used to the 'new normal', poor baby.

nods. I feel bad for her... just wish we could communicate to our furbabies. I was hoping when she gave Min that lick on the forehead after she passed maybe made her process what transpired and would help her a bit
