Question Of The Day. Saturday October the 18th.

Hello. 

Today's question is, If you were King or Queen for the day what rule would you make?

I'd have everyone plant at least one tree a year. People who aren't able to plant a tree by themselves would be able to nominate an able bodied person to do the planting for them. They'd still get to to choose what kind of tree they have planted.

Local governments would set aside tree planting sites in our towns and cities and create the role of tree guardians, people who's job it is to take care of the trees.

Honest answer or family-friendly answer? 

Hospitals must charge what the actual procedures cost, and not 15x the amount just to anticipate insurance companies exercising their leverage. In return, insurance companies can set a limit to how much they wish to cover, within reasonable parameters as defined by regulatory agencies.

That anyone caught torturing an animal would have that very torture visited upon them before they are publicly hanged.

Anyone catch that news feed about the dog found at Jane and Finch? Sick, sick, people out there.

Is "socialism" too big or broad an answer?

It's so hard to come up with a single rule that would appease me...

@Chromium Blues Wow, I just went and searched for that news now. That's horrific. The Jane and Finch area has a bad enough reputation as is (though I've heard testimonials that it isn't so bad pre-8pm... as if that means much given everything people see, hear, and fall victim to after sunset). Shocked and disappointed that there are people like that, especially so close.

The sad thing is that this happens everywhere. It doesn't matter what sort of a neighbourhood it is. I think it was the year before last that someone found "Lucky 191" curled up under a tree in Aurora, which is quite a nice little town. Lucky 191 had had 191 chemically burned into both sides of his body. He had severe head trauma, and lost the sight in one eye. Luckily, he survived and found a home. I can't understand why anyone would harm an innocent animal. No one ever figured out where Lucky came from, so whoever did this got away with it.

I googled the abused dog at Jane and Finch, that is so sad.  He was a Lab puppy which means he was probably a sweet friendly ball of energy.
