Hi everyone :wavey:
I'm filling in for Winchester today.

People seem to be living longer these days. 80 is the new 70!!
My Mum is 82 and she's the oldest living relative for me.

What age is your oldest living relative?

My Great Aunt Mary is 104. She's been blind for the past 15 years but lived at home and and got by with just daily visits from a home help until about five years ago. She now lives in an old person's home and has fun bossing all the nurses around.

She's so funny, if ever I call her she chats away at the top of her voice and I can never get a word in.

My grandma is 94. She's pretty healthy and still lives in her home but is starting to show signs of dementia. My uncle lives with her and she has in-home care so she should be able to stay in her home.

My grandpa's cousin died a couple years ago at age 98. She would have been 100 this year. She lived in her own apartment until she died.

My mom is 84 and still going very strong.  Her life companion--not technically my relative but I certainly consider him a member of our family!--just celebrated his 97th birthday.

My Grandmother; she is 95.  Her birthday is in another month.  I think she is one of the only siblings from her large family left.  She may be the only one left.  She has dementia but lives with my Aunt and Uncle and is generally happy.  Physically she moves around great!  Her eyesight has always been bad in one eye but it doesn't seem to slow her down much.  She did give up reading; but I think the dementia is a factor in that.

My Grandfather (other side of my family) isn't far behind her at 92.  Mentally he is sharp.  He always says he feels great from the knees up.  He has neuropothy in his feet and fingertips and that gives him some mobility issues.  But he lives in his own home.  My cousin does his cleaning and my Aunt does his shopping and takes him to appointments since he gave up driving.  Another cousin built him a table top garden bed and he grows a good bit in there.  My Aunt has a HUGE green thumb (that she inherited from him!) and she keeps up his other garden for him.  He and I like to have long chats on the phone.  He's really a gem in my life.

I have no living aunts or uncles anymore. I don't think Rick does either. My oldest living relative at this point is one of my older maternal cousins who is now in her late 70s.

Rick's oldest living relative is his mom, who is a peach. I described her the other week when her birthday came around. She is now 94 years old. His father is 92. Good genes, I guess.

My mother is 81, but I do have a few aunts and uncles on my father's side that are older.
