I want to buy felines pride but there are a few things I am wondering:
1 ) Does the food come in one solid frozen chunk or into bites?
2 ) How much is shipping?! (I can not find an answer anywhere, when I try ordering it doesn't even tell me what tax/shipping is unless I put in my cc info)

SO....Kitty lovers.

-What type of protein do you use?
-How do you defrost it/use it?
-Do your cats like it?

-How much do you feed them?

It comes in 2.5lb tubs all in one ground up piece, like ground beef at the market. Shipping is probably about $20 but without weight and distance, impossible to say. If you have Amazon you can get it there cheaper than on website.. Although this is likely temporary. Buy these containers and put 8oz in each, defrost it the day before you need them. Once you get your 2.5lb tub fill a bunch of containers so you don't have to defrost often. I get chicken, Cornish hen, duck, rabbit foods. Cat likes poultry ones best. She eats about 8oz per day but she's a kitty and it varies.

  1. I bought the chicken formula for my first purchase.
  2. It arrived slightly frozen and slightly thawed so that is the perfect time to divvy up the 2.5 lbs tubs into smaller meals.  I also use the same 8oz containers that I bought through Amazon.  I tried using an ice cube tray as my cat is better w/ smaller portions but it failed miserably as the frozen cubes were too dense to pop out like ice cubes!  LOL.
  3. Tyler loves it.
  4. Since Tyler loves the stuff, I try to feed the raw food as much as possible but it gets hard to do on weekday mornings as I'm always in a rush and want to make sure he still has enough wet food to last him through the day.  Since I get concerned about leaving raw chicken out on weekdays, I have to bring out the canned food so that I can leave it out longer and not worry about salmonella, etc.
I had no idea whether Tyler would love raw food so I bought a conservative shipment but now I plan on ordering more at one time.  The shipping for 5lbs of the chicken formula was $15 and I'm fine w/ it because...well it's frozen raw chicken...and I'd rather ensure that the chicken remains as frozen as possible in shipment than not.  I chose the cheapest shipping option and it arrived w/ two very heavy/large reusable ice packs in a large box.  When I found out that the distribution center was only an hour and a half away from me, I thought I would get it sooner than 2 days but no special treatment for me darnit.  I still got it after 2 full business days and it was in the thawing state when I opened it.

Thank you guys! I made the decision to try out felines pride. I ordered on amazon and it's not that expensive. I also bought 2oz silicone ice trays to make little cubes to freeze. You guys have been so helpful. :)
