My cat was 9# when I rescued her from Petsmart and had just had a litter 5 years go. She soon developed dripping on occasion instead of solid feces and since then all she does is leave a stream of poop instead of solid and she spends so much time in the box and all I hear is little whistle as she tries to desecrate. She is ravenously hungry all the time. I have spent a fortune on the vet. I got many blood tests-normal. Sampled her feces-no giardiasis and no parasites. Doc has given probiotics and Flagl-no change. I just took her back again and she is down to 5.1#. Doc gave her a steroid shot and told me to look for differences. I used to feed her Fancy Feast but changed all my cats to no grain Blue Buffalo just because of her. It's almost like human Chron's disease.

I ready need some other input on what I can do to put weight on her. I can put up with cleaning up after her-I just don't want to see her wasting away. Ashe seems fine otherwise. Please give me some ideas. We also have two dogs and are spending over $400 a month on the pets and can't afford any extended tests but I don't know what I can do. I am open to your experienced ideas. Didn't see a place here I could upload a pic of her-she is beautiful.

My Sweetie has colitis.  He gets so sick he won't eat. He has diarrhea so bad it just runs out of him like water. We caught it immediately so he did not need SubQ or IV fluids. The vet xrays his abdomen, does full blood work,  puts him on antibiotic, and a RX Science Diet for digestion.  The xray shows that his colon was inflamed. She also prescribes an appetite stimulant.  The vet told me it could be change in food or stress that makes it flare up.  The last time it happened was after we took foster kittens back to the shelter to be adopted. We do not change his food and do not change our household routine anymore and he has not had any issues. I would ask the vet if she could have xray and there is a RX diet she can be on that will help with weight and diarrhea. I know sometimes it is expensive, but some vets have CareCredit that you can pay payments on.  I had piece of mind he was getting the best care and I have my baby happy and healthy.
