So this weekend my cat had a horrible thing. First he got like every hour diarrhea (like watery pudding) (and it reeeked) and then, he threw up... pretty violently.  About 5 times. Then, it seemed to end.  I gave him no food for 12 hours. Around 12 on Monday I started giving him a little food. By Tuesday he was getting normal food. But Wednesday he was getting probably a little more than normal.

This morning he did his first movement and while it was hard and firm, it kind of still reeked and had some mooshy spots. Then I came home tonight and he had another movement ( he never has more than one in a day) and that reeked and though, was firm, had a little big more mooshyness to it.

Could this be just what is left over from Monday? Or do I have a problem.

I feel like maybe he had two in one day because the timing of the food I gave him on Monday was different than normal. I typically feed him once in the morning and once at night but Tuesday I gave him like 1/2 a can about every two hours to see how he tolerated it.

I do think I am going to call the vet tomorrow and get at least a stool test. He seems to be starving -- even while sick and throwing up he wanted food. It is like he is driven.

I would definitely give the vet a call. Hopefully they can find out what's going on with him.

Well, I submitted a stool test this morning -- that stool was rather hard -- but tonight he went again and it was back to the brown pudding.  Of course... as usual only on the day my vet is closed.  Well, I do have some anti diarrhea medication that I can give to him.  But I am bummed.  I hope it is nothing serious and something that shows up in the stool.

He is otherwise normal, very happy, not lethargic.  In fact he is always begging for food.  I hope that means worms or something but I suspect he is just a hungry cat.

I had asked my vet if it could be the steroid medication I was giving him. She was dismissive. But I have a suspicion. I gave it to him last Saturday and he got sick. Then nothing for 3 days, then gave it to him, messy stool. Then stopped, then gave it to him... messy stool. I am not sure it is the medication but perhaps something in the formulation. This is the first time she gave him a pill that was chewable and flavored like fish.    Though i had him on it for two weeks before anything happened... it is possible I just didn't notice the stools getting looser.
