Mikki won't eat any kind of chunks... was searching some foods with no guar gum and wondered if Wereva had any pate' style food?

All Weruva is shredded meat in gravy.  No pate style in their line as far as I know.

Its nearly impossible to find wet without guar gum.  In the variety of brands I feed I think the only one without it is Natures Variety Instinct and Tiki cat.

grrr well I'm not even sure that's what is causing scabs on her back... but thought it would be a good starting point.

Poor baby.  I hope she gets better soon.

Nature's Variety Instinct is pate and they have a good variety of meats in their lineup. Mine eat the chicken, rabbit, duck and venison.

Weruva's Lamburgini, from their Cats in the Kitchen line, is pretty pate-like: it's lamb and tuna but I realized as I was typing that it has guar gum! Our cats don't like it, though their predecessor loved it.

Have you tried pureeing foods in a miniprocessor? Some of Weruva's puree decently, though I don't remember which ones. (Definitely not Steaks Frites, though!)

If you're eliminating ingredients because of a gastric problem, definitely watch out for potato/potato starch in some of Weruva's foods: they seem to bother one of our cats. Good luck!

Soulistic Good karma and harvest sunrise (shredded chicken and shredded chicken with bits of pumpkin respectively) do not contain potato stsrch. They do contain tapioca starch. My 2 love both of these. They are available at petco, are made by weruva and the chicken is all white meat. They are in a broth like gravy. The girls like the soulistic better than the weruva

Does she go outside? My dog gets hot spots every spring and sometimes in the fall. the vet thinks it's a reaction to pollen or something outside.

nope.. indoor only kitty. The problem is she'll get a lil scab..then she goes after it and deepens it. Several years ago she got her first one (she's 10). She almost had surgery as she kept licking it so deep.. so we did the steroid shot route (just one) and it helped it to heal a bit... then we put a shirt on her and kept an anti itch cream on it. We tried perscription duck without any luck.. she hated it... so on our own we eliminated chicken for 6 or 8 weeks... then fish... all with no luck so I was wondering if it's food at all... one sore was tested when she went to the vet for a UTI.. no mites or anything like that causing it...it's not THAT bad...so that's why we just try different things here and there...but now that we just lost her littermate were thinking it's easier to change foods for this one.

Tried a flea treatment once... but it didn't help anything...and I didn't suspect fleas as I searched bot kitties carefully plus where they lay...and the fact they are indoor kitties..I don't think that's the problem.

Yes, they like the Harvest Sunrise a lot, thank you for mentioning it! The Soulistic pouches are a little high in carbohydrates so I just give them every now and then, as a treat.

Have you tried eliminating dry? Half the time it is the culprit. Canned is better for senior kitties also. Just go for one without grain or carageen. See if it improves. Can she be given medicated bath?

yes she no longer gets dry. I actually did look up baths the other day as she possibly would tolerate that as she's pretty mild.

I gave mine a medicated bath, he had feline acne on his back! Sores improved with bath and grain removal and it cured the other cats vomiting.
