when is it okay to handle new kittens, without having to worry if the mother will stop caring for them or just eat them ?

how can you tell the sex of kittens? and is it a such thing as it being to soon to tell? because my kittens all have the same thing but not sure if they are male of females? (don't see any pointy things if you catch my drift)

Can you post pics? No, there isn't a thing as "too soon to tell;" however, kittens DO go thru a period when it is harder to tell (like between 4-6 wks of age.) The easiest time is soon after the kittens are born...and, of course when they really start to develop around 4 1/2 to 5 months of age.

the usual is you can do it very soon. most  breeders and rescuers do for example weigh them every day, from day 1.

You must do it of course respectfully, near the mom so she sees you are not harming her babies, and they arent protesting.  Do it quickly, so she doesnt gets nervous.

If she is very shy, or very aggressive, you perhaps cant do it.  But the most common is, you can do it also with shy rescued mommas. As long she understands you are friendly and helping her.

Nay, there is no danger she will eat them - that is verry, verry rare - unless she is stressed into the extreme.   And she wont stop caring them.

The danger is she will get angry at you - and may attack you if you are very nonchalant or very careless...   Its every moms duty to defend her children, no?    :)

Handle them a little more you begin at about week 3, but some look see and weighting you can begin immediately in all normal cases.

Good luck!
