Hi! I have a 16 month old fixed male and since he was a kitten every few months I will wake up in the morning and he will be drooling profusely for several hours and really wanting to be by my side or in my lap. He's pretty lethargic when this happens but will perk up after a few hours then stop drooling. His tongue will sometimes be sticking out during this time and his pupils get big.

I tried pressing on his stomach area to see if it causes any discomfort and it didn't seem to. he peed this morning so I don't think it's his kidneys or bladder being blocked. my roommate said he didn't see anything crystal wise in the pee. One of the cats in the house had kidney/bladder crystal issues before so we've dealt with that.

He started again this morning and was very irritable, hissing and scratching which he's never done before when like this. After I took him into my room he calmed down and is not moving about but still drooling pretty good.

I'm wondering if it could be something seasonal like allergies? Or cold he be allergic to something in one of his foods? I've been changing foods around a bit to find one everyone likes.

any help would be appreciated,

thanks.

It almost sounds like seizures, maybe you can record it on your phone and bring it in to the vet, a picture is worth a thousand words! Good luck!

Thanks! I hadn't thought of that. I don't notice and spasms or anything of that sort. He purrs when being pet. I meant to say he is moving around now, not "not moving around". and he has moved from right at my feet to the kitchen.
