Has anyone here dealt specifically with a cat that had both IMHA and Feline Herpes?  And before you ask, I know IMHA in cats is extremely rare but every other test has been run and all signs still point to IMHA.  There is no bacteria causing the anemia.  We are currently 2 months in on a round of a very high dose of steroids along with cyclosporine for the anemia but now have severe side effects due to the immune system being suppressed and the feline herpes running rampant.  We have tried famcyclovir and doxycycline as well as clavamox to reduce symptoms with no luck.  Really worried about my kitty.  :,(

There are specialized online communities/groups for almost every chronic feline health condition/disease.......anemia is no exception.

From my own experience, these groups are most often the best place to get the most up-to-date treatment information.....and personal experience-based advice.

So, if I were 'in your shoes', this is where I'd be posing that question: Feline Anemia User Group    (Founded in 2000....2000+ members since then......get yourself a new, separate email addy to better manage the info flow [email is their operating platform] )

Keep us posted ! (some pix would be nice, too !)

This is my Fuzz Lightyear.  The first pic was taken a few weeks ago when he was still in the danger range for the anemia but on the mend. The next was taken a couple of weeks ago after the severe Herpes symptoms started emerging.  His eye looks even worse now.  He has been taking Interferon drops for just over a week but they don't seem to be helping.  Thanks for the links. The bottom pic is my screen saver.  He's my baby. :(
