Hi guys!

So I have a one year old cat named Gracie. She's just a tabby, although I think she's beautiful! Anyways, about an hour or so ago I woke up from really awful muscle pain in my leg. It happens every so often, generally when the weathers about to get yucky (was really nice on Sunday however there's a 50% chance of rain today..) Because my leg was sore I went downstairs to get some cream for it and I sat on the couch all like doubled over in pain and everything and my cat pops out of now where's and sits on the arm beside me and just starts to purr really loud. Was she trying to comfort me or is she just mean and was she like laughing at me pain? :p She's never really been lovey towards me in the past when I was in pain (or maybe she was and I just don't remember lol. I don't typically get in pain but when I do it's like the whole 10 miles of dizzy spells, ears ringing, skin feels hot and sweaty for a bit ugh. Feels like I've got the flu but I don't!)

Gracie's not super cuddly with me. She really likes to cuddle/get non-stop pets from my dad, which makes sense cause he's home all the time and makes more sense if it's cause of my dads 24/7 nerve pain. All Gracie ever loves me for is when she wants food lol. (I gave her food when I came downstairs, before applying my cream and sitting on the couch)

Apologies if this sounds odd, I'm writing this half-awake and I'm trying to watch my spelling/grammar haha. If this is written weirdly or simply doesn't make sense let me know and I'll delete it (if I can...?) Thanks!

I certainly believe cats can sense when we are in pain and will do what they can to comfort us. She sounds like a great cat.

Of course your cat loves you and wants to comfort you! Most cats pick one person (like your dad) and seem to focus on them, in my house it's me,
, but that doesn't mean they don't love the other people there too. It's like having kids, you love them all, but maybe in different ways. I always take it that attention from a cat at all is rare! (and welcome!)

Absolutely, cats know! I have heard many stories of kitties coming to comfort a person (who is either in emotional or physical distress). It's not always a coincidence that they all of a sudden come by to sit on your lap or purr and rub against you!

"Just a tabby?" Why Tabbys are magnificent!  And yes they know if their family members are not doing well and yes they care!

I think so. I had a mild concussion once and my Little Guy would wake me up by jumping on me every two hours. When I get hurt Schweppie gets upset so I have to pretend I am okay. He starts to howl and comes to me. My dog couldn't care less.
