I've posted recently about our nightmare with ear mites and scratched cornea on my 6 month old persian boy.
He has been wearing and e-collar on and off for the past three weeks. Today I looked at his paws when he stretched one out for me to scratch and saw that his paw pads and fingers are peeling around the corners. They aren't red or inflamed, just thick callouses that are coming off entirely, leaving new skin underneath. We're going to the vet tomorrow (feel like I've been living at the vet's office for the past month!) so I will bring it up, but I am wondering...does anyone know what it could be? Maybe because of his lack of grooming because of the collar? He seems to be very eager to clean his paws when I take it off, but doesn't seem to be in pain otherwise, just really angry at me for messing around with him with all the ointments.
