Well he's never hissed before. The other day when we were washing a bit of dookie off of his foot in the sink he got preeeeeetty mad! He did his mad meows a couple times then his first hiss!! It was sooooo cute!

Oddly enough he doesn't mind showers as much, but he doesn't like the sink at all!

Aww, Zero is growing up.

Personally, though, when my kitties hiss, I don't think it is cute at all!

Saki freaks in the sink if I try to wash something off him, yet he is always curious about the shower and wants to go in lol.

Yeah I dont think hissing is cute either

Trent has the cutest little hiss! He's a pretty big boy - about 15 pounds and he isn't fat at all. Add the long hair and he looks even bigger. But his hiss sounds like someone sighing.
It's so pathetic - and his growl is just as weak! Poor Boo Bear...

But he does try. He hisses at people who walk up the stairs toward our apartment if we are in the computer room (which you have to walk past to get to the door). I try to tell him that he really isn't very scary, but he's our big guard cat anyway.

Zero is EXACTLY THE SAME! He likes to lick the water off of our shower door too

I've noticed both cats and dogs exploring the shower or trying to lick the floor. Maybe our scent lingers there more than other places or maybe the shower's larger size is less confining or threatening.

Jordan will lay on me while I'm in the bath tub & often gets in the back of the shower while I'm in there, but go to wash him in the sink & it's World War 3 time.

Sometimes hissing is cute. Like last night when Levi & Jordan were trying to play with the same toy (a constant problem despite having 2 of everything). Levi was batting it around & it got Jordan so excited he came running for it & I think he scarred Levi because he had this look of terror on his face, but then followed it up with a hiss like he was saying "don't ever do that to me again"
