I picked my 5 month old kitten up today and felt lumps along her belly. Some are quite big. There's 3 or 4 I felt, maybe more. One felt like a marble and one a big squishy lump.

I'm going to get her to the vet tomorrow but I'm seriously freaking out! I'm holding back tears thinking of what it could be :((

Try to stay calm.I know it is easier said than done. You are doing the right thing in going to a vet asap.it could be benign cysts.it could be anything.Don't assume the worst.Any change in kittie's behaviour? Eating ,drinking, pooping, peeing? Inddor kitty or outdoor? You said a "She" right" Look at her nipples.

No, there's been no chance in her behaviour. She eats and drinks well, uses the bathroom. She's as playful as ever. Very active.

Those are good signs. Is she showing anything like she notices those lumps being there? I mean does she lick them or anything? Can you feel the lumps by gently grabbing both sides and see if they feel attached or they feel like their floating in the skin?

No, it doesn't seem like she's bothered by them at all unless you touch them. I tried, but I can't really tell. It kind of feels like floating? When I touched again, I noticed it felt like little ones were all over her belly like a rash. I'm wondering if it's a reaction to the new food I started her on yesterday? I'm hoping anyway. I don't want to think of the alternative =\

So touching them hurts her? She needs a vet.Lmk how it goes with the little one.Hugs & don't or try not to worry.Your emotions go right through to her.Could be an allergic reaction could be nothing serious at all.Good you noticed and you're doing the right thing.the reason I asked about her teets is the mammory glands.

Update:

Got Ailee to the vet and he examined her. He was sure they were mammary tumours until he heard she was only 5.5 months old and not even old enough to be spayed. He said we needed to take a sample of the lumps so he brought her in the back and used a needle to get a sample from a big and a small one.

He mentioned either mammary tumours or maybe even something with the lymph nodes. Either way it doesn't look too good and my heart hurts. If you guys could send good thoughts my baby's way I'd appreciate it :(

Oh Honey...My prayers are with you.Until diagnosis try to enjoy every minute you have with her. These can be benign. Before you make any decisions pls talk to me when you get a diagnosis ok?Send me a direct email.I have had animals all my life with weird lumps that show up for no reason.they aspirated them and some were cysts. Some they didn't know what they were and yes some are what you are fearing.Until that time comes please play, love be with her.Every emotion you have will go straight to her.Kitties are so sensitive. We have no idea. I know this is easier said than done.Sending very positive vibes & lots of hugs to you & your baby.C.
