Thank you everyone for your help in my last post! I went out and got the Fancy Feast classic that everyone was suggesting. Now I just need to figure out how much to feed them.

I leave dry food down all day because they like to nibble at it. They don't overeat it.  The cans of food I got are 3oz. Should they be getting fed twice a day? One can each in the morning and again at night? Or just one can each in the morning?

These are my study buddies. Pippin is my boy, he's the bigger one and is a year old. Ailee (eyelee) is the petite little girl that's 5.5 months.

Feed enough to keep your cats at a healthy weight
Every cat is different so there's isn't one magic amount to feed. You generally want to feed about 10 to 20 claorie per pound of ideal body weight. You can find out the calories of Fancy Feast and other brands from here: http://catinfo.org/docs/FoodChartPublic9-22-12.pdf Fancy Feast runs about 70 to 90 calories per can. A 10 pound cat would need about 200 calories per day or about 3 cans of Fancy Feast.

Feed canned at least twice a day and limit the dry to a small amount. Instead of dumping dry food in a bowl, measure out like 1/2 cup or less and leave that out. If your cats just pick at it, reduce the amount of dry food so there isn't a lot of waste at the end of the day.

My 10 pound Aby eats 3 oz of (raw) food a day and my 8 pound DMH eats 2oz of (raw) food a day. Total calories per day is just under 200 for the two of them. It doesn't seem like much but both cats are healthy and neither will eat more than they need.

Are there feeding directions on the back?
I'm not sure if there are, but if so, it should tell you how much, and how often, for the different ages of cats. If not, going to have to go with what @LTS3  said :)

With our two... we fed each of them half of a 3 oz can, 4X a day! Now that we lost Min (lil demanding thing), we feed Mikki half a 3 oz can at 10am, 4pm, and then a full can at 10PM but sometimes I just give her half , then give the rest of it to her before I go to bed, which is late..like past midnight..to last her! ha
I stopped giving them dry awhile back.

I find instructions tend to over feed cats, I have a big male and smaller female and the eat 5.5 to 6 oz each a day, you could go with less if you supplement with dry. Start with 3 oz each, break up morning and night. If still hungry and not wanting dry , feed 1.5 oz per day each. Like I say mine eat two small cans each but one gets no dry and the other gets very little.

I have a 16 lb male and a 10 lb female ..

Each cat gets  a    3 oz can of Fancy Feast Classic  ( 1/2 can of water added )  , morning and night ..

In between  1/8 cup of kibble . That seems to satisfy them . They let me know if they are hungry .
