Hey guys!

I'm new on this site but just came to talk while I'm waiting for my cat's appointment next week! My baby's name is Dora and she's 7 and a half years old, she hasn't had a cold for her whole life and I'm a bit concerned that she got one now. My family and I actually went on holidays about a week and a half ago and when we picked her up from the cattery she seemed out of sorts which i wasn't too worried about until she wouldn't stop meowing - it went into the night, i tried cuddling her, putting her in her own bed and closing the door and even letting her sleep with me but nothing would stop the meowing. That went on for about 3 days and then she began sneezing every 10-20 minutes for like 20 seconds each time (it was really cute but she looked so annoyed) the sneezing slowed but hasn't completely gone away - she's been like this for a week and now her eyes are watering too. Oh and she also has mild asthma - it only flares up around winter (Australia) and happens every couple of weeks when it isn't winter. Has anyone else's cat gotten sick after being at the cattery/kennel?

This is not uncommon, anytime you have a population of cats you will get URI's.  Your cat needs medications and treatment, please contact your vet, and inform the kennel, they may provide support.

It's very common for kitties in stressful situations to become sick with an upper respiratory infection.  Being in a new or different place is stressful enough, but if you add other kitties to the mix, that ramps up the stress level.  Get her to the vet for a check up and medication if needed.
