I got my cat, Macy, two months ago. Her and my other cat, Marilyn, don't get along at all. They fight everyday and I'm not talking about just hissing.
But that's not the problem although I'm sure it has something to do with it.
She doesn't poop in the litterbox at all. She pees in it. But doesn't poop in there. At least two-three times a day she does this and my mom is fed up with it. She's not as understanding and willing to help. She has given me till the end of the month to fix this problem or else she is giving her away, a cat I paid for myself. Someone please help me.
I have two liter boxes already I've tried moving them but that didn't help. I switched food because I thought maybe she wasn't making it to the litterbox from diarrhea but that wasn't it either.
Someone please help me so I don't have to be without my sweet half Bengal.

...with the cats...
@jesshikur -- it may be that your macy doesn't like to poop where she pees. some cats don't like to do both in the same litter box. also, the general rule for litter boxes is, "one box per cat, plus one". this means that ideally there should be three litter boxes for two cats.

are the litter boxes being kept very clean? scooped at least once per day, and dumped out and washed out frequently? some cats are more particular than other about their litter box(es). i've heard of cats who prefer their pee/poops to be scooped out pretty much immediately.

do you use covered or uncovered litter boxes. some cats have a preference for which type they prefer.

where are the litter boxes located? it's much more comfortable for cats to have their litter boxes in a quiet area that doesn't have a lot of "traffic" (people walking by or doing things frequently).

you mention that macy and marilyn do not get along. could it be possible that some litter box bullying or intimidation could be going on? macy should be able to feel safe/secure using the litter box.

may i ask, how old are macy and marilyn?

what are you using to clean up the poops on the floor? is macy pooping in many of the same spots? it's best to use an enzymatic cleaner (like natures miracle, available at most pet supplies stores). follow the directions on the bottle exactly, to get the best possible results. bear in mind that it many times needs more than one or a few treatments with the enzymatic cleaner. cats sense of smell is something like 17 times as sensitive as humans sense of smell, and until the odor/smell on those spots where macy has pooped is completely gone she'll still smell it and think that "since it smells like poop there, it must be an ok place to poop".

Have you taken her to the vet?? If this isn't territorial then it could be medical. She might be in pain while pooping and therefore avoids the litterbox since she associated it with pain. Most cases are probably colitis or IBD so get her checked ASAP!! if you rule out medical issues, then cats do poop/pee to leave their scent and mark their territory so she could be territorially insecure as well because of your other cat.... were your two cats introduced properly?? Or did you just put them together as soon as you get her?? Cats usually fight if not introduced properly as well.....And if you're feeding only dry food, then try mixing wet food with it to help soften the poop a bit and be less painful if it is a medical issue. I hope everything is okay soon! Keep us updated!! :)

Hi! So. I used to have three liter boxes but neither were using them so I threw it out.
Marilyn is 2 1/2
Macy is 1 and a couple months
Yes they were introduced properly.
Ishes pooping on the same exact rug and generally in the same spot. We usually keep Marilyn upstairs and macy downstairs where it's quieter because she more afraid of people.
I got her to the vet before and they didn't find anything wrong with her.
The litterbox is a Breeze system by Purina. The pee goes into a different compartment than the poop. The box says to change it once a month and the pee pads once a week when I religiously do.
To clean the carpet I use Pine-sol and a carpet cleaner used for animal-induced stains

Has Macy had this problem the entire time you have had her?

If so, perhaps she doesn't want to poop in the pellet litter the Breeze system uses. Have you tried offering a 3rd regular litter box with clay clumping litter in it?
