Looks like under the chin. There are whiskers on the right side of the picture and the line just to the left of it is the right side of the mouth.

I'm not sure what the red scabby thing is but two possibiities is feline acne or an abscess.

She had two teeth out last week and last night we noticed a pocket of fluid under her chin, this morning it looked like this. She is eating wet food, grooming and using the litter. Acting normally in other words. ..but just wondering if anyone has had similar experiences or if anyone has seen this? She does not rent when we touch it and does not seem to be in pain.

Does the cat ever go outside? It kind of looks like a bot fly infection.

Have you called the vet to let them know about this? I don't know what it could be or if the dental would have anything to do with it, but it looks sore. (Although you say she's not in pain, cats do hide it very well.) I would keep an eye on it and get in touch with your vet. If it's infected, it'll need to be treated.

Feline acne, dab with hydrogen peroxide, make vet appointment, you may need antibiotic. Do not use plastic bowls only use ceramic and shallow dishes. Paper plates ok and throw away each time or if using ceramic, switch out and wash each time. Plastic harbors bacteria.

Could be abscess related to dental so I would make vet appointment in case antiobiotic needed.

My cat started bleeding on kitchen floor so I rushed to vet as I did not know where blood was coming from. I thought it was his mouth. Vet lifted his head up to look in mouth and a giant scab fell off his chin. He said it was feline acne and infected so he gave him a time released antibiotic shot and told me to dab with hydrogen peroxide and change his dishes. He is a biter so I never had occasion to look under his fat chin! Ha ha

Thanks guy, she has had feline acne before and we did change all her dishes so I don't think that's it, whatever it is it seems to be healing on it's own- lucky us!

thanks again
