Cat+candle wax

My precious, fluffy, little Mew had an incident with a candle on a melter (no fire thankfully)! So my white fluff ball is now caked in purple...I've been just snipping out what I could with scissors, but it's not easy. Any suggestions?

Would it come out any easier if you pressed an ice cube against it?

I haven't tried yet because it is solidified already. Apparently it happened while I was at work....

The only way to get wax out is to melt it again, not a good idea while it is still stuck to your cat. Even scrapping the wax off would leave a residue behind. I think cutting it out is the best option. Could you take her to a grooming shop and ask them to do it for you?
