sorry to hear about your kitty passing away, As you stated you cleaned your house the day before, there are a lot of common household cleaners that are toxic to cats. Anything containing phenols in the ingredients, Dettol is one also some disinfectants. If a cat walks over a wet floor then cleans their paws, this is how they ingest the substance. If this is the cause, don't blame yourself, a lot of people don't know about this. If your kitty used to go outside, she could have picked something up that affected her badly. My old cat died a couple of days after using STRONGHOLD to prevent fleas, I don't think it was a coincidence this happened, and blamed myself for a long time. I have 5 cats now and wont touch the stuff , when you think about it , most of these things are toxic. Never give cats Bob Martin for fleas there is an ingredient that is also in insect and fly sprays, I don't know how they are allowed to sell it.

thanks but by cleaning i meant dusting and brooming and vacumming only.. we didn't use any kind of chemical cleaners or toxic phenols that day.. wre painted the house though.. but i'm a 100% sure she never touched theaints or the walls we painted on..would the smell hav caused irritants?? and no, my kitty is entirely an indoor kitty.. but even if she had picked up anything of the sort, shouldn't the affect b instant?? she was all right till about 2 in the next morning and then she started acting weird..

Hi, I am sorry your cat died. Sadly, yes the fumes from the paint can cause respiratory distress in cats. I don't know if that was it or not of course, but cats should not be in a house that is being painted until it is fully dry and all the fumes and smell is gone.
