Hi all,

I'm new here and thought I would introduce my two new aditions, Molly and Ziggy. They've been with us for just over 2 weeks now and are nearly 11 weeks old.

I was wondering what you all though about their markings. Molly, our little girl is classic black and white, although is interesting to look at as she's nearly exactly half white and half black.

It's our little boy, Ziggy who I'd like your opinion on. He's obviously a tabby, but he's some interesting circle type markings on his side. I also can't work out whether he is grey or brown.

And this is his tummy.

Any opinions or information is most welcome [emoji]128522[/emoji]

Thank you! As they're moggies it's purely interest about their markings, but they are loveliest cats temperament wise that I could have wished for!

What gorgeous kitties :heart3:

Molly is a beautiful black and high white girl. :D This pattern can be called "cap and saddle"

Ziggy is a beautiful brown broken mackerel tabby and white. ;)

Thank you for your lovely comments!

I've heard of a mackerel tabby but never a broken one! How does that change the pattern?

I'm excited to but a cat mommy for the first time - I've had cats as a child but never been in charge of looking after them. Loving every second so far and this forum seems lovely!

Broken mackerel is exactly what it sounds like. The mackerel pattern is stripes. Broken mackerel means the stripes have breaks in them. The separation isn't enough to call it a spotted pattern since you can still follow the line of the stripes.
