First let me start off with, I am here for knowledge, not lectures. My cat is a year and a half old. She escaped out the door twice in a 3 day period of moving things into our house. She has recently gave birth to 4 small but very healthy and content kittens. It has been 5 days since there birth. My cat has showed no signs of distress. She has been eating and drinking well, bathroom breaks are normal beside the slightly larger size of her poo, and nothing out of the ordinary appears to be wrong. She has been purring, and friendly and inviting, and seems very content and comfortable. But I still had not tried to mess with her babies and belly until today. This evening I was setting here next to her box and noticed she was panting and laboring again, so I petted her gently and slowly down the side of her belly and it seems there are at least 2 long bumps in her belly. These bumps appear to be moving under the skin. Now I have had cats deliver a day or 2 apart, but 5 days apart. So my main question is : Is it possible for my cat to have carried 2 litters full term and birth 2 separate times 5 days apart? I know a cat can be pregnant with 2 litters, but I've only read that they deliver both litters in the same birthing. Please. I am very interested in knowing! Again I remind you, she seems very normal as if she was having the first litter, with no other problems shown. Thank you! P.S. She has cared for everyone of her kittens very well, she is very attentive to them, and even through the laboring she cares for them.
