Hopi there, this is my first post so bare with me here. I recently found a kitten ( he's about 6-7 weeks) and were trying to make it work so we can keep him. We took him to the vet today and they said he has fleas. They gave him the medicine and told us what to do.
He is currently staring in a little pen we've made him in the garage, however we've brought him in the house a few times so my mom and I are a bit worried there are fleas in our home. None of my family has been bitten nor has our other cat.
We aren't in the middle of a flea infestation crisis, but our fear is that we will be.

What should we do/ use to keep our house flea free?

Hi @Kaitylin

I recently had an issue with flea in my home and my 3 cats. Fortunately it did not turn into a flea infestation because we caught it early enough.

You might want to treat your other cat that lives in the house for fleas, as you never know, one could have jumped from the kitten to your cat, if they came in contact. this way if any fleas did get in the house, but not on your cat yet, at least she will be protected for the next one month from any fleas on her, or from any fleas getting on her.

as for your home, please do a thorough cleaning. You don't need to wash everything, but maybe throw them in the dryer on high heat for about  20-30 mins, should kill any fleas or flea eggs. vacuum, mop, etc. that should help.

I hope others chime in with more advice!

Good luck.
