i keep getting distracted today!  I've been starting to write my grocery list for over an hour at least.  Friday I was much more productive.  My 4 year old had had an over night with my mother and didn't come home till late afternoon.  It was just the 2 year old and I here.  I sorted toys and got a lot of cleaning done.  That's a feat; considering he is in that stage where they get into everything; even by climbing.  And he doesn't keep his clothing on.  Or diaper.  And he isn't potty trained.  Yep.  I'm busy.

But I found a station on Pandora called Family Road Trip or something along those lines.  The music is GREAT!  I do NOT dance in public.  But it was upbeat and fun enough to keep me moving and acting silly.  I was trying to get DS to dance with me (he normally loves music!) but he was busy with his trains.
The station had lots of music from the 50s. 60s and 70s; the fun classics that extend beyond generations.  Think Brown Eyed Girl, Here Comes the Sun, I'm a Believer, Lollipop, etc.  I really enjoyed it!

What is your favorite kind of music to dance to?

I don't know all the words; but I love to sing bits of this to DS.  I call him my Sunshine.  He really does have a sunny disposition; even in the midst of his 2 year old antics.

This is my song for DD:

I'll probably be turning that on again here soon.  I like to have music on that we can all enjoy.  Especially when they kids are asking for more tv time!  Nope; get up and dance!!

I don't dance, maybe tap my foot.

I love Classical music and will sometimes "conduct" the music. Does that count?

For dancing around the living room when no one is home: Led Zepp (re-living my youth)

For dancing and cooking in the kitchen: JJ Cale or Bonnie Raitt. Oh, almost forgot Buddy Guy's version of Mustang Sally. I really should do a "mixed tape" of kitchen dancing music. Thanks.

Kitchen dancing is great!  I did a little of that today; my kids looked at me like I was nuts!
I was trying to show them how to do the Twist.  DD was like "No Mom; ballet dance!"
I wonder what my neighbors think of me?

Headbanging I have never understood.  My cousin went through a metal phase when we were teens.  I had the hair for it and I tried.  It hurt.

When I still danced in the kitchen, at work, yes if music from the 50-60's came on up I'd jump. We.were all females who over the years knew more about each other than our husbands did. And if course in the kitchen. I had a very long wire from the 'tape recorder' to earphones enabling me to dance all over kitchen.
50-60's music. If it's classical I sing along loudly especially to 1812.

I love kitchen dancing!
When I'm in the kitchen cooking and baking, I always have music on. And I'm always dancing around the kitchen and singing. Rick calls me The Rocking Baker because there's always music and there's always singing along to the music. And there's always dancing. There is nothing better than dancing around the kitchen!

Love, love, love Mustang Sally!

Train Kept a Rollin' - Aerosmith

Everybody Wants You - Billy Squier

Anything by Zepplin

Anything by Aerosmith

Anything by Dire Straits

Anything by Judas Priest

Ziggy Stardust - Bowie

Deep Purple! Love my Purple! Smoke on the Water just rocks

I could go on and on. The louder, the better. (When it gets too loud, the cats move to the bedroom.)

Can't cook without music. It's just wrong. I taught a number of people to make bread. I got this question a lot: "And how long do you knead the bread for?" Answer: "Um, three songs."

Isn't it amazing how far technology has come?  As a young teen I had a "walkman" tape player that went with me on every long car trip.  Now I have an ipod the size of a small matchbook and I can clean the whole house with that on without disturbing my kids. No long cords required!

I like that; 3 songs!  Cleaning the house is always WAY better with music.  I usually put a movie on for late night holiday baking; but if I need to be sure I don't disturb my kids or husband I use the ipod and go with music.  Or my kindle.  Since we got the Roku players for the TVs I've been doing Pandora through that instead too.
