Does anyone know the best flea treatment for cats in Europe (the Netherlands)?

I always buy Mew Frontline Combo to protect him against fleas, ticks, and other things. A few years ago, I learned that Frontline Combo was the best medicine for that. But lately, I've been hearing that Frontline isn't as effective as it use to be since fleas are starting to resist it. I was wondering if that is true. In case it is, I made a list of flea and tick medicines that are available here. I would appreciate it if anyone could recommend me a flea medicine from my list that is as good or let me know if frontier is still the best. They flea medicines available here are Frontline Combo, Demavic for cats and kittens, Fiprospot Spot-on for Cats, Frontline Spot-On, or Trixie Spot-On Anti-tick agent.

jenniator jenniator do NOT use Bob Martin flea products they contain pemetherin which is highly toxic to cats. Just google "Bob Martin cat flea Reviews" and read up what people say about this product

I've heard this about Frontline too.

I use Stronghold but I guess you maybe can't get that in the Netherlands :D

Never heard of most the other's sorry. ;) I just wanted to warn you about the Bob Martin

I recently used Pet Armour on our cats. The vet was delighted to say that Nel had not a SINGLE sign of fleas when she went for her spay a few months back. It is like $17.00 for a box of 3 but it works really well.

Edit: this brand compares and is similar to Frontline

Wow I had no idea the Bob Martin flea products are highly toxic to cats! Thank you so much for warning me about that. It's sad they would make a product that is toxic to cats when it says to apply it to their skin! That really is horrible :(

I just read some the reviews and I am absolutely disgusted that a company would make something that is so toxic for cats! I feel so bad for the kitties that went through so much pain because their owners had no idea this medicine would hurt them. I just saw that this product is so horrible that some cats passed away from it! That absolutely breaks my heart and makes me cry. It really scares me that a company could actually get away with this.

Unfortunately we don't have Stronghold here that I've heard of. It sucks because Frontline is really the only flea/tick medicine I know of that is good :(

Thank you again for the warning :)!! I really appreciate it.

Unfortunately I don't believe we have Pet Armour here in the Netherlands, but thank you :)

Lots of people use "Effipro" by virbac here in Germany and say it's as effective as frontline since they both have the same active ingredient fipronil. it should be available in the Netherlands as well :) there is also "Revolution " but this kills all forms of parasites and not only fleas. It's much stronger than frontline and therefore might cause a reaction in some cats. But be sure to read some reviews on them if you find them in the Netherlands :) I've read some reviews about the products you listed. If it helps this is what I found : mixed reviews on fiprspot (some cats experienced scratching and burns while with others it worked perfectly fine)... Trixie spot on had mostly negative reviews...and couldn't find anything on demavic :/

Thank you so much for helping me and telling me about Effipro. I've looked at pet stores before and Zooplus, but the ones I listed were the only ones I could find :( Wow thank you so much for checking up reviews about the ones I listed! I really want to avoid Firespot if there is a chance it can cause scratching and burning on some cats :( Your right, I just noticed the Trixie spot mostly has negative reviews. I checked demavic on Zooplus and it also has negative reviews! :( It seems like the only good brand available here is frontline, so I might have to stick with that.

Revolution is the same as stronghold, it has exactly the same composition. Stronghold is sold in the UK whereas Revolution is sold in the U.S. I think! I've been using Advocate spot on for my cats (we are in the UK).

I remember looking it up for my parents and in laws who live in Belgium and I recommended Stronghold, which is the European version of Revolution. I like it because it also helps with internal parasites, so it's just one application instead of several if you have to treat for worms.
