Sorry for the late post! I just returned from staying in Niagara Falls at my parents' place for the weekend, as we had a wedding to attend in the region. As soon as we pulled off the highway to get to my house, I yelled "WE'RE HOOOOOME!" and I was quickly corrected by my boyfriend who said "no, you're home", and so I yelled "I'M HOOOOOME!" instead. He told me he doesn't consider that area, nor where we live now, nor his parents' house "home". He later clarified that the Niagara region is his home - it's where all his friends are, his siblings are relatively close, and he wants a job there.

So, where is "home" to you and why?

Home to me is Niagara Falls where I was born and raised, where my parents are, where some of my family are, and some of my friends are (away from the actual waterfall where tourists flock), and for those who live far away now, Niagara is a nice and easy place for a lot of us to get to without having to worry about tons of traffic or parking troubles; it's small, it's comfortable, the air is fresh, there's lots of greenery, the people are friendly, the streets aren't packed with cars, it's safe, it's a pretty low-key place and people aren't as uptight as in bigger cities where everyone is stressed out. The difference between a bigger city and home is like night and day to me.

The whole region is nice though. I wouldn't at all mind living there if I could get a permanent and stable job in my industry, though that's quite unlikely, unfortunately. I love my apartment too and I've done what I can to accent it like a home, but it's not a home without the ease and access to the rest of my family.

Same for me basically. The town where I was born, raised and lived until I was 20 is where I consider "home". My parents and the majority of my relatives live there. I always refer to it as "back home" when I'm talking about things that happen there.

I don't know.
When I was 12 we moved away from the area I was born in.  But my family still lives there and in a lot of ways that feels like home still.  But then not.  I've been in this are for 20 years and I'm comfortable enough here.  I just wish I had family around (besides my mom and step-dad).

My happy place.
For me London is where I call home, it's where I was born and raised. All my family are there apart from my mum and dad who moved out to the country 10 years ago.
It still brings back happy memories of being a teenager when we drive through although I wouldn't want to go back to live, we live in a lovely part of the Cotswolds now. Although we have a quite a busy town a short drive away, where I work, it's nowhere near as hectic as the big city.

I consider wherever I am to be home.  I think it comes from my 8 years in the Army, at that time anyway Army people got moved around a lot.  There is an old saying that gets used a lot in the Army, Home is where you hang your hat.

I love the Niagara region. My sister lives in St. Catharines (she's a university student) and it's nice there.

I don't really have a place I call "home" ever since my mom sold the house I lived in after my dad passed away. I have moved quite a few times since then and never really settled in one place. I now live in a smaller town and plan to stay here for quite a while. I like it here... people are friendly, we live close enough to a major city (London, Ontario), there are a few nice parks and there's lots for families to do (festivals, farms, etc).

That's a tough question to answer. I grew up in Philadelphia, and that felt like home as long as my immediate family was living there. Now I only have my sister and her kids living in the Midwest. That area doesn't seem like home when I visit.

At this point I've lived in Germany far longer than I lived in the U.S, so I guess it's home although I still feel very much American.

Hi , I didn't know where the Cotswolds was and so out of curiosity I googled it. And OMG what a beautiful place to live. Absolutely  Gorgeous. You are very blessed to wake up everyday to scenery like that. I have never been to Europe but dream of being able to go some day.

I have only been to Canada one time, and it was actually to the Niagara Falls. 8 years ago  in September myself and my at the time 2 y/o daughter, Mom, and Step Dad flew to Albany NY. Rented a car and drove to stay in Saranake Lake in a cabin. Then we drove to the Canada side to see the Niagara Falls. I remember it being a very long drive there. We stayed overnight in a hotel over looking the falls. Absolutely Beautiful. My Daughter loved the butterfly conservatory there.I really don't remember seeing a lot of Canada on the falls. Then we drove to Albany and flew back home to Florida.

I was born and raised in a suburb of Chicago, called LaGrange Park. I was born in Worth Illinois also a suburb of Chicago. When I was 3 we moved to the house in LaGrange Park. I lived there until I moved out on my own at age 17. At that time I moved to a South Suburb of Chicago called Park Forest where I lived until I was 35 y/o. Then I moved here to Florida. I live in New Port Richey Fl. which is  considered  to be the Tampa Bay area. I have lived her now for 18 years. This is where my Daughter was born. She is a Floridian. I still consider myself a chicagoan. I miss Chicago a lot. This is where I live now. But Illinois is home. I have 2 brothers that live there still and a lot of extended family but I don't get a chance to go there often. I have only been back there a handful of times and never in the Autumn, or Winter. I miss the colors of Autumn and a white Christmas. I know Jesus is the true meaning of Christmas but it is very hard feeling the Christmas spirit here in Florida because I was raised sitting buy the fire place drinking hot chocolate, going sledding, and ice skating all winter activities. My Daughter has never seen snow and she has never felt temps colder than maybe 35 degrees. I send her to Chicago every year to stay with my brother and Sister in law  but always in the summer.

I left England in 1968 when I was 23. I have since lived for 46 years in Israel. I consider both to be my homes. When I fly to England i feel I'm coming home and the same coming back.

Thank you and yes the Cotswolds are very picturesque. Unfortunately I don't actually see much greenery from my Windows as I live in the middle of a village so my views are of houses. My house is one of the newer additions to the village, I think it was built in the late 60's but we do have the benefit of very large rooms unlike some of the very old houses here. I would love to live in a quaint cottage or even a barn conversion but the prices here are sky high. Maybe one day.

Where I live now and for the past 30 years is home. I was born in North Carolina, but we left soon after, so there's no connection really.

Rick and I moved around the area quite a bit right after we got married. And we settled down where we're at now in central Pennsylvania. It's a good place for us. We get all four seasons (even though I'm not crazy about winter). We have a gorgeous view out of the front of our house. We have mountains and water. Victorian-type towns, college towns, it's a very eclectic area.

(But I still want to move to someplace where it never snows....the day after I retire.)
