My cat, Coko, is 11 years old and I just cant get a handle on what is going on.  she will urinate in the kitchen sometimes, only the kitchen, and only in the morning before i get up. BUT during the day, she NEVER does this, she uses her litter box!!

It started with one spot on a rug and then moved to another spot on another rug, until i would pick up all the rugs at night and then she would urinate on the floor.  one of the spots is in front of the cabinet where we keep her canned food,  she is a well fed cat and a bit spoiled, she is smart and she is a very good cat.  she doesn't do it every day, she can go days without doing it, even weeks, and then she will start again.

At fist i thought she was irritated with me for not getting up right away when she wakes me up and wants to eat; but even when i would get up immediately when she would wake me, she would have already urinated.

She is primarily and indoor cat, but she goes out on the back porch and she will meander down the stairs and hang out in the rock garden or watch the birds, she doesn't go very far and we always go get her and make her come back inside.  she does love to go outside though.  we live in Hawaii and there are many feral cats around, they know where Coko lives and the do come around.  we thought at one point a feral cat was coming up on the back porch and causing her stress and then she would urinate in the kitchen, but that cant be it cause they don't come up there anymore.

I know that this issue could be a UT infection, but it doesn't make sense that she uses the litter box like a normal cat for the rest of the day.

ANY ADVICE OR SUGGESTIONS FROM YOU CAT LOVERS?

When in doubt, take the cat to the vet.   Also, make sure you clean up where she has peed with a good enzyme cleaner. I use Nature's Miracle Urine Destroyer. Make sure you get the bottle that says Just for Cats.
